📌 Some adjectives are gradable (they can be made stronger or weaker), while others are non-gradable (they describe an extreme and cannot normally be graded).
Certains adjectifs sont graduables (on peut modifier leur intensité), tandis que d’autres sont non graduables (ils expriment un extrême et ne se graduent pas).

Do you know how to use adjectives in phrases like a bit cold, really cold, and absolutely freezing? Gradable adjectives work with adverbs such as very or really, while non-gradable adjectives are used with adverbs like absolutely or completely.

It’s really cold.

→ Il fait vraiment froid.

It’s absolutely freezing.
