In negative sentences, we use “not many” with countable nouns and “not much” with uncountable nouns. Dans les phrases négatives, on utilise « not many » avec les noms comptables et « not much » avec les noms indénombrables.
There are a lot of carrots but there aren’t many potatoes.
→ Il y a beaucoup de carottes mais il n’y a pas beaucoup de pommes de terre.
There’s lots of juice but there isn’t much water.
→ Il y a plein de jus mais il n’y a pas beaucoup d’eau.
