3 Second Conditional Inversion
🔄 Replace “if” with were + “to” + infinitive
Remplacez “if” par were + “to” + infinitif
✓ If everyone reduced meat consumption → Were everyone to reduce meat consumption

✓ If California were a country → Were California a country
→ Si la Californie était un pays…
4 Third Conditional Inversion
🔄 Remove “if” and invert subject with had
Supprimez “if” et inversez le sujet avec had
✓ If we had lost that match → Had we lost that match
→ Si nous avions perdu ce match…
✓ If I had known you were in town → Had I known you were in town
→ Si j’avais su que tu étais en ville…
